Brief Biography

Tatyana G. Borovskaya graduated in 1979 from the Faculty of Biology and Soil Sciences of Tomsk State University, the department of cytology and genetics with the basics of embryology. She worked at the Research Institute of Oncology of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences as a senior laboratory assistant since 1980. In 1981 she was transferred to the Research Institute of Pharmacology of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences to the laboratory of drug toxicology. Her doctoral dissertation was transferred to the post of leading researcher after successful defense in 1999. She headed the Laboratory of Pharmacology of the Reproductive System, Goldberg Research Institute of Pharmacology and Regenerative Medicine, Tomsk National Research Medical Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences Clinical Pharmacology since 2003.

Research Interests

Tatyana G. Borovskaya is the author and coauthor of more than 300 publications, including «Kagocel in рediatrics. On the issue of reproductive safety: Collection of articles and materials», «Guidelines for conducting preclinical studies of drugs», monographs «Gonadotoxic effects of cytotoxic drugs», «Cancer and Reproduction», «Ovaryotoxicity cytostatic drugs and ways of its pharmacological correction», 136 of them indexed in RSTI, 43 - in Scopus, 37 - in the Web of Science. She has been studying the gonadotoxic effects of cytostatic chemotherapy and the search for new drugs for treating male infertility of various origins, as well as benign prostatic hyperplasia. She has 19 Russian patents for inventions of the Russian Federation. 7 master's theses defended under her leadership. Basic scientific research Borovskoy T.G. associated with the development of methods for assessing the reproductive toxicity of drugs, with the search for new models of pathological conditions of the reproductive system, with the search for means of treating diseases of the male reproductive system and, above all, male infertility of different genesis. The area of ​​interest is also regenerative medicine, oncopharmacology, embryology, cytology, genetics. Borovskaya T.G. is a specialist in assessing the embryotoxic and teratogenic properties of new drugs, as well as evaluating their possible carcinogenicity. The research results were reported at the World Congress on Reproductive Medicine (Moscow, 2006), on stem cells (Chicago 2014, Pussan, 2015), on toxicology (Philadelphia, 2015), on pharmacology (Birmingham, 2016).

Achievements, awards, and grants

Borovskaya T.G. took an active part in the creation of more than 30 new drugs. More than 10 of them are already used in the treatment of a number of diseases. The specific activity of five new drugs has been studied under the leadership of Borovskaya T.G, two of them are used in clinical practice. A grant in the field of medicine and interdisciplinary fields of knowledge was received from the Foundation for Assistance to Domestic Medicine of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 2004. She was awarded a certificate of honor and thanks to the Tomsk Region Administration for her great contribution to the development of science and practical public health in 2006 and 2007. Studies were conducted on 14 grants of the Federal Target Program "Development of the pharmaceutical and medical industry of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2020 and beyond" in the period 2013-2017 under the leadership of Borovskaya T.G. Work is underway on another five topics of this FTP in 2018. Borovskaya T.G. takes an active part in scientific and organizational work: she is a member of the dissertation council D 03/14/06.01 at the Research Institute of Pharmacology and Regenerative Medicine.
