Brief biography

In 1984 Vasilev Aleksandr Petrovich graduated from General Medicine Faculty of Moscow Medical Stomatological Institute. Since 1972, he worked as a general practitioner at Povarovsky Outpatient Department of Moscow Regional Healthcare Department; cardiologist of the Tyumen City General Hospital No. 1 (1974), an assistant of the Department of faculty therapy at Tyumen State Medical Institute (1978), and studied at the graduate school of the All-Union Cardiology Scientific Center of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR (1978-1981). Since 1982, he has been working as a Senior Scientific Researcher, Head of the scientific and clinical Department of Coronary Insufficiency (1993-2000), cardiologist of the Outpatient Department (from 1993 to present), Principal Scientific Researcher (from 2000 to present) of the Department of arterial hypertension and coronary insufficiency of the Scientific Department of Clinical Cardiology of Tyumen Cardiology Research Center – Branch of Tomsk National Research Medical Center. He successfully defended his habilitation thesis in Cardiology (1998).

Research interests

Dr. Vasilev is an author of over 100 research papers, including 5 monographs and patent on invention. His scientific interest is in studying of diagnosis and treatment of coronary artery disease and arterial hypertension. Study of microcirculation at various risk factors for coronary artery disease. The role of peripheral blood flow in the pathogenesis of tissue ischemia.

Achievements, awards, and grants

Vasilev A.P. was awarded with Certificate of Merit and Letter of appreciation of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences for many years of conscientious and impeccable work in the field of medical science and health care, for a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the Tyumen Region (2005, 2010), Certificate of Merit of Healthcare Department of Tyumen region (2006), Honorary diploma of the Governor of the Tyumen Region (2015), Certificate of Merit (1998, 2012) from the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. In 2017, he was awarded the Honorary Title "Honored Veteran of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences".
