Tyumen Cardiology Research Center

Tyumen Cardiology Research Center is known as one of the largest most comprehensive and most advanced clinical and research centers in the Russian Federation. We are constantly trying to apply modern medical technologies in everyday practice with the goal to provide the leadership necessary to deliver the highest quality, most effective and efficient medical care available.

Priority scientific directions of Tyumen Cardiology Research Center are carrying out integrated fundamental and applied researches in conditions of the West Siberian region and the Far North. Our experts study the mechanisms of cardiovascular diseases development to minimize risk of more-advanced lesions in future.

The main current fundamental and applied scientific projects are the following:

  • Pathogenetic aspects of the development of arterial hypertension, coronary artery disease and heart failure; ways to optimize diagnosis, treatment and prevention.

  • Development and implementation of new high-tech approaches to diagnosis, personalized prevention and drug therapy of socially significant cardiac pathology.

  • Predictive technology for left atrial appendage thrombosis in patients with atrial fibrillation using predictors not included in the CHA2DS2-VASc scale.

  • Technology in optimizing results of percutaneous coronary interventions in patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction.

  • Development and implementation of innovative high-tech methods for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases using a personalized approach.

  • Risk prediction method for development of subclinical atherosclerosis of carotid arteries in rotational shift workers in the Arctic.

Specialists of Tyumen Cardiology Research Center actively present the results of their scientific and clinical work at the international level, annually taking part in conferences, congresses and symposia. During the last three years they participated in more than 70 international scientific meetings with oral and poster presentations, invited lectures, interesting cases including such big prestigious conferences as World Congress of Cardiology & Cardiovascular Health, European Society of Cardiology Congress, American College of Cardiology Annual Scientific Session, EuroEcho-Imaging Meeting, World Congress of Echocardiography and Allied Techniques, ТСТ - Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics Congress, European Atherosclerosis Society Congress, EuroPCR Meeting and many others.

Moreover scientists of Tyumen Cardiology Research Center covered issues of the formation and course of cardiovascular diseases in publications and presentations at the local, national, and international levels. Results of scientific activity confirm the high scientific potential of the Center. Over the past decade, scientific projects are reflected in more than 2,000 publications in the leading Russian and international scientific peer-reviewed journals, including 10 monographs, over 400 articles (including 39 in international journals); 11 patents for inventions have been received, over 1,500 oral and over 500 poster presentations have been submitted (of which over 200 at the international meetings).

Tyumen Cardiology Research Center implements joint scientific projects on topical issues of cardiology with foreign colleagues. International cooperation is successfully developing with such partner countries as the USA, Israel, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Great Britain, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, etc.

Leading specialists of the Center are fellows and members of international professional scientific organizations, such as European Society of Cardiology, American College of Cardiology, International Society of Cardiovascular Ultrasound, European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging, European Heart Rhythm Association, European Association for Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions, Heart Failure Specialists of Tomorrow (HoT-ESC) and many others.
